Adela Su Comes to Roanoke

  • Carillion Wellness-Roanoke 4508 Starkey Road Roanoke, VA, 24018 United States (map)

I am thrilled to join Bonny Branch Movement Arts as Valley West Coast Swing to offer this special event!

Come dance and learn West Coast Swing with All-Star Adela Su and the Valley West Coast Swing community. We have an *advanced beginner workshop with Adela from 4-5:30 and a half hour of asking questions and practicing from 5:30-6. The cost to attend is $25 per person for the 2 hours. Adela is also available for private lessons earlier in the day. Please get in touch with Lane or Bonny to register for the workshop and/or schedule a private lesson.

*The advanced beginner workshop assumes you are familiar with some basics of West Coast Swing, including the sugar push, right and left side passes, sugar tuck, and whip.

Adela Su is a West Coast Swing dancer, instructor, competitor, event organizer, and sponsor in Charlottesville, Virginia. She’s a long-time volunteer, a past president, and a current Board of Director with the Charlottesville Swing Dance Society (CSDS). Adela has been a West Coast Swing instructor for 20+ years, offering private lessons and group classes with a fondness for technique/drills instruction. She’s a GPDIA-certified instructor and has completed Myles & Tessa Cunningham Munroe's SLDM Dancer Development Program. Adela competes on the World Swing Dance Council circuit at the All-Star level and in the Sophisticated and Masters divisions for Jack & Jills (random partner) and Strictly Swings (chosen partner); she’s also an Intermediate level Leader. Adela studies with top professionals to keep up with current trends, for teacher training, and to improve her own dancing. She loves sharing her knowledge and experiences with others.
